International driver licenses are referred to as IDP [International Driving Permit] this type of document is generally issued by the licensing authority of a country to enable their citizens to drive while visiting other countries. Generally they are valid for a one year period. Any Indian citizen who wishes to drive when visiting abroad should apply for IDP prior to leaving India.In India IDP is issued by the licensing authority in India or a few authorized automobile associations. Regional Transport Offices (RTO) are the designated government offices that deal with International driving license issues in India

Relevant documents such as proof of residence are required, so its important to apply accordingly to the office that has jurisdiction over the area of your residence. The time frame to get IDP after submission of documents is generally seven working days, however may take as much as 30 day

    With 2ndlicense you can also apply to buy a real British ID card. Same as the Australian ID Card you can use these ID Cards in any situation in Britain.
